Never Move Hands Away from the Home Row
Reaching for arrow keys, the numpad, or the Enter key causes wrist strain and interrupts your typing rhythm.
FJ Flow has overhauled its core Key Extension system to consolidate every critical keystroke within 1–2 keys of the home row.
Key Improvements & New Features
1. Deterministic 4-State FSM (Finite State Machine) Engine
Input evaluation and key output are now cleanly separated. The 4-state transition engine resolves common typing hurdles:
- Zero-Delay Normal Typing: Standard keystrokes are dispatched immediately with 0ms latency.
- Character Reversal Prevention: Keystrokes pass through a serial evaluation pipeline to prevent character overtaking during high-speed typing.
- Variable-Length Sequence Support: Multi-key combos of 3 or more characters (e.g.,
usa->United States) are now reliably recognized.
2. Enter Key at the Home Row via Space + ;
Hold the Space key with your thumb and press ; with your right pinky to send an Enter (newline) keystroke.
You no longer need to stretch your right hand to the far edge of the keyboard, keeping your posture intact.
3. Hold-for-Symbols (No Shift Key Needed)
During standard typing, holding a key down (default 300ms) directly outputs special characters without touching Shift:
to
: Outputs number-row shifted symbols (!,",#, etc.)</>: Outputs?with a single hand<,>/<.>: Directly outputs</>
4. Enhanced Instant Macro & Keystroke Repeat
- Space +
,: Toggles macro recording on and off - Space +
<,>(Hold): Instantly executes the recorded macro - Space +
.: Repeats the immediate previous text input
Navigation keys (arrows, Home/End, Space Shift movement) are automatically excluded from the repeat buffer, allowing you to move the caret and repeat your previous text seamlessly.
